Education Minister ****** wants to give schools a better tool to bring more discipline to classrooms by forcing parents to immediately come and pick up their young brats, according to a newspaper
“We need more discipline in schools. At the moment we seem to have reverse corporal punishment where the children hit the teachers. It’s not on,” says the Minister
She says that as society has developed, things have changed and given children more power than is good for them, and the time has come to do something about it.
“If you look 30 or 40 years back no-one talked about teachers having to have more training in conflict solving – back then teachers were an authority. So now parents will have to instil the necessary respect for teachers in their children,” says the Minister who plans to present her proposal as part of the government's major school reform.
Headmasters like the idea.
“The signal that parents have to be aware of their children’s schooling is a good one,” says School Head organisation Chairman ******.
The parents’ organisation *****, however, says the proposal is an awkward attempt to seem decisive.
