I am thinking of some 'book' gifts for my wife and mother in law and would welcome suggestions based either on your own experience or recommendations you have heard of.
Firstly, my wife. She is an academic but now works in commercial Finance and i was thinking about something enjoyable on things like financial frauds (like Enron) or 'bad economist' type stuff - any suggestions? Something not too heavy (as she does it for a job) but a good investigative approach perhaps. Think government economy, commerical fraud or even just general ponderings in this field.
My inlaw mum. Well she likes philosophy of science and religion. Nothing quite as harsh as Dawkins, but of that type. She enjoyed 'soul searching' by Humpreys last year and i am thinking of something similar for this year - but perhaps more a classic written by a true expert and not these modern coffee-table psych nonsense people.
Any suggestions?
Here you go....
Books? Seriously? I think you'll find many women would prefer expensive jewelry and new clothes to books. I'm not stereotyping here, merely observing where they shop!
