Saw an ad in local rag for an evening with Simon Peters.
A couple of excerpts from his publicity material that will ring some bells with those what know the M.O. of these types:
"Simon Peters has been described (I wonder by whom?) as Britain's most exciting and evidential mediums."
Be good to see the evidence eh! I suppose at least he hasn't gone for World domination yet. Compared to some, "Britain's most exciting2 is a relatively modest claim!
"Simon's evening's can be a very moving experience, with specific details being passed from the spirit world...."
Specific details eh! I'm just gagging to hear some.
And finally for now, how about:
"Complete skeptics have been known to change their mind completely and go home converted..."
Wow. Any of you lot got something to hide?
Despite the ambivalence towards Bad Psychics it is a shame it is gone because was a good research tool on individuals, and would have liked some more background prior to making a complaint to the venue and local TS. Anyone got any history on him that i might be able to use?
The point is with stuff like this is that you have to do it properly - in a style such as that of Rob Lancaster and his stopsylvia website. It's no good just ranting and raving (in good old BP fashion) against each and every psychic who gets his/her name known.
Could we not get someone along to this evening of psychic wonder with a hidden digital recorder, for example?
It would certainly be interesting to see the difference between people's recall of the event (if they posted on a forum about all the wondrous 'hits', for example) compared to a transcription of what was actually said.
.
Appreciate what you are saying re BP, but it was a good library of info on a lot of the charlatans and that was useful sometimes.
Cannot see anyone taking on SP or any of the others in this fine Country of ours a la the fab efforts of Mr Lancaster on Sylvia Browne, unless of course one of them starts to get that big.
In meantime, am simply thinking of stirring things up a bit locally as opposed to a full blown campaign. Just wanted to see if anyone had any history on him that would help make the case to local TS that these sort of events should have at least strong 'health warnings '
A little bit of background and reference HERE
Luckily the web is archived

The other references to Simon Peters on BP were simply along the lines of "Such and Such put on the worst display of mediumship I've ever seen and that's saying something as I've seen Simon Peters"
It references this site.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/isil.te...s_coventry.htm
Which gives lots of lovely details about his shenanigans from a believer in mediumship. It also has a lovely misspelled tirade and veiled threat in response from Simon Peters. Love and light!
BP also refers to an article which was "previously on this site" about Simon Peters which Simon had claimed was responsible for his dwindling audience numbers. I haven't yet been able to track down such an article.
I wish I had a recording of the time I saw Simon Peters demonstrate.
During one reading, where a woman had put her hand up to having lost a son in a motorcycle accident, she asked Simon Peters to stop the reading and he didn't.
She told him she didn't believe he had her son (after denying the information he gave.)
She was severely distressed and he left her with the message ''You'll see I'm right.''
This was the only demonstration I have ever been to that not one single person applauded.
Also, he made sexual references about his microphone to two young woman sitting in front of him. A horrible man.
rainbows, I presume people actually paid for this "demonstration".
Yes - it was about a tenner. On leaving the venue, I noticed a few people
in the foyer frowning and tutting. Being nosey, I edged in and had a listen.
They were comtemplating whether to complain....I doubt they did as I saw the same people in the car park outside a couple of minutes later.
The astonishing thing is - before he demonstrated he gave a half hour speech how fantastic he is at giving evidence.
My review of a 2005 Simon Peters demonstration. I hope you find this useful...

Thanks for the responses. How could you all be so horrid. Sounds to me like Simon Peters is really just misunderstood and misrepresented. Obviously he's really just a jolly nice man who wants to help others by bringing them detailed information and messages from their loved ones on the other side. NOT!
Would I be overstating the evidence if I suggest that quite a few of these so called 'psychic' characters have a bit of an edge to them, when they really want us to believe that they are warm, caring, compassionate souls? Seems that edge emerges when they are under scrutiny over their so called 'gifts'.
Well, I hope to rile this particular loathsome specimen.
Happy hokum hunting folks.
