"The Father of Western-style acupuncture practice."
"Unfortunately he was a fabulist, according to an article published in the Süddeutsche Zeitung."

Most of the ideas we have about modern acupuncture were invented by Soulié de Morant.
People love to state that acupuncture is thousands of years old (although it isn't) and use that as a justification for it working but they don't realise that it's almost all a 20th century invention.
As usual, people who make claims for things they believe in don't have a clue what they're talking about.
.
Well, I always thought that the origins of acupuncture were lost in the mists of time (not that that gave it any credibility).
Much CAM (and indeed other woo) many people wrongly believe to be ancient and use that belief to justify it - Homeopathy, reflexology and so on - and a lady I spoke to the other day used the argument that Tarot must work as it's "millions" of years old.
