    God in the classroom

    An article from the Guardian on dealing with 'God' questions directed at science teachers;

    But look at the number of comments...!

    I've never understood how a scientist could believe on a god. It doesn't bother me if they do, I just don't get it.

    IMO there is a good case for RE teachers to be agnostic rather than religious or atheist. That way they should be more likely to give an objective and unbiased view.

    I applaud your tolerance. I can't understand how someone can teach scientific method by day and yet pray at night. The very idea bothers me.

    I had a great RE teacher for a while. Very much a believer but very open to debate and ideas. His lessons were always enjoyable (even if I was endlessly told to shut up!) and I would have taken RE as an option if there was the slightest hint that an examination pass in it was worthwhile.
