    Water purification

My attention as been brought to this

    http://www.aquasmarter.com/

as a means of chlorine-free swimming pool purification. What is worrying is that it is being touted as a drinking water purifier.

It looks like woo to me (mention of 'energy source', being squashed by 'big chemo', lots of talk of cations an anions, anecdotes and testimonials and the like), but I just don't have the science skills to know.

    Any thoughts?

If it walks like a duck....

Unable to find any reference to Aquasmarter on the EPA web site.

Pubmed search of water ionizers and bacteriology yeilds 9 reports, none related to this product, and the others not particularly effective.

Given claims made exceed evidence base accessible, I think this is for the gullible.

The aquasmarter site also claims improved performance and efficiency from diesel engines, by treating the fuel with their product.

I've read a bit more of this now, it's got to be a scam - surely?

    From their FAQ's
