    Scientific 'Young Earthers'

The creationists are not the only ones arguing about the age of the earth.

"Writing in the journal Nature Geoscience, however, the researchers claim that while the Earth probably grew to 60% of its current size relatively quickly, the process may well have then slowed, taking about 100 million years in all."

My psychic powers are kicking in again... I predict that Creationist loonies will abuse this work and claim it supports their 6,000yo world fantasy.

i tend to be a young earth creationist, but my view is not consolidated yet. What makes you believe, the earth has more than 10 thousand years of age ?

Radiocarbon dating - up to 50,000 years
Thermoluminescence and Optically Stimulated Luminescence - up to 750,000 years
Potassium-Argon dating - up to 4 billion years
Paleomagnetic and Archaeomagnetic dating used to improve on Pottassium-Argon dates.

These indicate beyond any shadow of doubt that modern humans have been around for about 200,000 years and earth for several billion years.

Aside from a book written by those with no method of testing the veracity of their stories, what evidence do you have that the earth is less than 10,000 years old? In answering the question we please provide an insight as to why the other creation stories we know of and which would suggest different timelines are proven wrong by your text.

Dendrochronology extends back more than 10,000 years for at least one species of tree.
Lake bed strata go back further than 10,000 years.
Ice core data goes back hundreds of thousand of years.
If you consider sedimentary deposition, fossils, weathering, continental drift etc you relize the earth must be many millions of year old.

Get yourself a book on the basics of geology and you will see the evidence for an ancient earth is overwhelming.

There is also the small matter of the age of the rest of the visible universe, currently calculated as 13.7 billion years. For a figure of 6,000 years to be correct, all modern physics wold have to be complete rubbish. Which would mean that nothing based on it could work, including the internet.
