That is less than 1 year per boy (probably a whole lot less if we knew all victims)

He should be sentence for such a stupid amount of time, that he could never be released.

While understanding the visceral reaction, I would have to ask why? Is the objective to appease the revenge lust of the victims and their families, to show the disgust of society, to send a message to other potential or current offenders, to rehabilitate the offender or to protect society?
As I see it this guy must be at least 65 by now. 13 years brings him to at least 78, which is the likely natural lifespan anyway, if he does get out then he certainly won't pose any risk. If the objective is a societal/revenge one is there any evidence that an extreme approach works as opposed to satisfying tabloid editors?

But it has to be said even at 78 if he gets the opportunity, he can rape or if impotent still sexually abuse in other ways.
