    Lots of different stuff all covers - all two part harmony (a bit of a speciality of ours).

    Lots of Eagles, Beatles (yawn), some Lightning Seeds, The Beautiful South, Robbie Williams, ELO, Wet Wet Wet, The Who, all sorts - anything which takes our fancy (or which we feel we have to do which is entirely different)..

    We have self-made backing tracks with drum machine and bass guitar, some with some keyboard and backing harmonies made on a four track tape machine and played from mini-disk. All a bit low tech - I would do it very differently now!

    I play rhythm/solo guitar and wifey does rhythm on her Yamaha which has a good percussive sound although she softens it using a Boss effects unit set to "12 string". I use a Boss effects unit with loads of chorus when chording and loads of sustain/overdrive/echo when playing solos. In addition to not being particularly good guitarists we also both have restricted vocal ranges (although both quite good singers). We have to choose the keys for our songs quite carefully and sometimes we change who's singing the lead between verse and chorus - in fact sometimes in the middle of a line!

    It's all got a bit boring after 30 years. We only ever play when we want to nowadays and always for free so we dictate what we do and for how long. It's too easy here to find yourself playing for 4 hours until 3 in the morning for peanuts.

    Sounds great Chaggle! A wonderful way to spend your time!
    I used to be in bands when younger, I have a couple of friends that still play. They often nudge me and suggest I should get involved again. Though i do miss it, sadly, I just don't have the time. Specifically its the interaction/collaberation with others i miss.

    The reason I say that I'm not a particularly good guitarist is that I can't do those bits in the guitar shops that the young guys can do - like Dr B says. I do what's necessary to be able to play enough songs for a four hour gig - which I suppose makes me an OK guitarist/singer/musician. It's the story of my life - just do enough to get by and earn a bob or two.

    this might work....http://www.4shared.com/audio/uhegM50u/SONG0004.html

    I will post more recordings here later;

    Equipment = G&L Asat classic guitar (telecaster) set to the neck pick-up
    Boss E-band
    Medium rock backing track and effects patch.

    Disclaimer: any similarity to Eric Clapton's style is purely in my head and may not be an objective reality......

    a variation on a theme above (jazz / blues)

    The best way to describe the backing tracks is really as sound loops, as they go on for ever continuously looping. While not to everyone's taste (there are often no bridge's for example) they are excellent for practice. Any questions about it let me know

    PS - I am away at a conference from tomorrow so it may be a few days before i reply
