Thread: Birmingham public house investigation

    Birmingham public house investigation

Would anyone be up for conducting investigations into a pub in Brum anytime soon? We could choose a 'haunted' pub if we wanted something to be sceptical about- or just choose a cheap pub :)

I'd steer as well clear of pubs as possible. They're a nightmare to work with, generally. We have policy now not to work with pubs, unless they are as a private case or willing to work on our terms, but even then they try to push the limits.

    Why a pub? :)

I suppose you could always be sure of the presence of spirits

Bad pun, I acknowledge, but someone had to get it out of the way :)

    Speak for youself. :P

    I'll investigate any pub.

I'd give it a go, but it would have to be serious and/or educational for me.

I was speaking of a serious, thorough investigation of a pub

Of the type thats so serious and undercover, the only thing the pub owners know about it is that their takings are up

Or I suppose the entities in Starbucks could be investigated :)

We could always take a lead from Nicky and Dave: http://www.p-s-i.org.uk

    They do these investigations (properly).

I must admit that I have never taken part in an investigation of this type but I would if it was done professionally.

Not on this forum you shouldn't.

I see what you mean now.

I should be coming to Birmingham in October so perhaps we should arrange a small get together then.

I'm likely to be in Brum most weekends since most of my friends are still students, the slackers.

In principle, I'm up for that - I live not too far from Brum.

Depends on childcare and suchlike commitments though :-\ I'll look into dates.

I can't do 13-22 October, but otherwise mostly free.

    Anybody else got dates yet?

Well I am a lady of leisure apart from a couple of family birthdays in October. So I'm flexible

    But how's about the 8th?

I could do evening of the 8th.

John - do you know when you might be around?

I live in the big smoke (well actually 375ft above the valley smog in Crystal Palace, "the fresh air suburb" as the Victorians coined it).

Does anyone know of any regular meets of skeptics in or around London?
