Homeopathy: which is stronger, 3C or 6X?

I'm currently writing something up on homeopathic dilutions and I'm using 'C' potencies as the example as you can explain things quicker when dividing by 100 rather than 10!

    But...

Although we know that a 3C potency is the same dilution as a 6X potency, do homeopaths consider one stronger than the other?

It's not the dilution that they aim for, it's the number of succusions that is supposed to increase the power of their magical water.

So, would a homeopath consider a 6X remedy as being stronger than a 3C?

Wow. Everything I know (and I have two publications on homeopathy, one in their own magazine "Homeopathy") says that the two are interchangeable in every way. The proper number of succussions potentizes each dilution; but, once accomplished, the result is the same. However, there is no true standard for this trade, and somebody mat disagree. Still, I think you can safely stick with the C designations.

    "18X and 6X please"
    "4 pints of 6X?"
"No! 3 pints of 6X and one and-a-half 4X please."

If homeopaths were at least consistent in thier views skeptics would ahve a much simpler time of it all. I suspect that some will consider the X version to gain somethign from the extra succsussions. I remember readingh that Hahnemann cautioned parctioners from keeping their medications in their waistcoat pockets incase this additional shaking would make the medicine too powerful.

I can't be bothered to find a reference for this at the moment, but I've read that Hahnemann came up with the idea of dropping the remedies onto sugar pills to prevent liquid medicines from being inadvertently overpotentised when being transported on the rough roads of the day.

I am currently taking a herbal remedy from a guy in NZ from a company called Bushlore, I have used him several times over the years and everything so far he has prescribed has done the trick, it is thought that the remotemes of the island in relation to the rest of the know plant world, makes their treatment unique because the plants are amongst some of the oldest found on the planet today.

I'm using a mixture of native NZ herbs in 3 drop in 100 parts 8 times a day which is working like a dream, all the modern drugs have made me feel worse to date, I'm recovering from a long illness which I posted about in another thread, I have great faith in this mans abilities to date, which is a placebo in itself I suppose, something which I also believe we have lost over the millenia, is a certain ability to heal ourselves through thought alone.

A lot of modern ilnesses are brough on by modern life style would you agree.

    Dale,

Why have you posted this herbal anecdote under a thread on homeopathy?

Perhaps you have failed to appreciate that homeopathy and herbal medicine are absolutely NOT the same.
