    Bach Flower Remedy Study

Interesting study being conducted by one of my old lecturers. I've just signed up to it. See what you think.

Bach's Rescue Remedy is mostly alchohol - no wonder it calms you down :D

heh .. It does say that people with a history of alcohol problems shouldn't participate due to the brandy content ... :D

Seriously, that stuff knocks my head off. I'm a lifelong-teetotaller who has never been drunk, and back before I was a skeptic, I unwittingly bought some Bach's as I'm a nervous flyer. Three big eyedroppers of that on my tongue and I was giggling like a schoolgirl.

    Wheeeee!

I was actually furious once I'd realised why it had had the effect it did. There is no difference between that and a nip of brandy, other than misleading labelling.

Of course, now I know to read ingredients before I buy. Thanks, Skepticism!

I should also comment on the study while I'm here!

I have some misgivings about this, simply because the alcohol content in the bottle will elicit an effect on many people, unlike straight homeopathic remedies. How are the researchers accounting for this?

Will some of the bottles have straight brandy in, and some the Bachs?

One method of taking them is to pipette a few drops into a glass of water and drink that. Then you can't get a 'hit' off it.

I've joined this! My freebie came today. You just put two drops in a glass of water.

I've tried the flower essences before and not been that convinced so I'd be intrigued at the results.

And it involves getting something for free so I'm happy

Do let us know how it goes!

Although if you're already 'happy', maybe it is working!

    I'll act as a control.

I'll drink neat brandy and let you know how it goes.

If I can post that is!! :D

Hi did anyone else join in this trial?

I did and found myself starting to believe in it :o Maybe the trial is a cunning plan run by the flower essence dealers to get me hooked by giving me a free sample at first :o :D
