Afraid not! Dunno why....I think I'm just a bit fed up with the hype, the spoilt players and the diving/play acting....
I'm looking forward to a drink and a night out with friends watching. I have to admit if England lose I'll laugh rather than be upset.
You never know, perhaps I'll be won over by the time tonight's match is over....

I like having Lou Reed as manager though....Has anyone else noticed?!

I won't watch England in the World Cup for the same reasons I didn't watch Tim Henman at Wimbledon - I know they are capable of winning, but I also know that they won't and I'll just end up pissed off.

    A typical England performance.

A lot has been made of the goalkeeping error (is it only me wondering about a betting scandal? ) but the overall performance was very poor.

A lot of praise has been given to Heskey's performance as he won just about everything in the air, but all he did was knock it down and then little to nothing came from any of it.

There hasn't been a really good match in the tournament yet.

    That's extremely skeptical of you.

I did wonder about match fixing, but wonder if anyone knobbling Rob Green would also be gambling on him getting picked.

--and there are a lot of Aussies who are a bit tired and emotional tonight. (tired and emotional as a newt actually) after Germany handed the Socceroos their heads.

Many fans are stunned and disappointed, certain the game was rigged. Everyone except the Aussie coach and players were confident Oz would win the cup.The historic occasion was to be marked by a flyover by The Royal Australian Airforce's specially trained squadron of flying pigs. Pity,I was really looking forward to seeing that.

I feel a bit sorry for Green. A bad blunder, but the vitriol towards him in the bar where I was watching the match was very unpleasant.
After all, the rest of the team were not exactly playing out of their skins.
And of course no other England keeper has ever made mistakes....

    The Germans look good.

Yes it does seem unfair: a couple of the forwards missed virtually open goals but that was quickly forgotten, even though a failure to take a good chance to score is just as damaging as giving a goal away

I've just come back from a few days in Paris. As you can imagine the football is extensively covered on the TV (although everything went strangely quiet after the France v Mexico match...) with the added assistance of one of those voice recognition systems which automatically prints what the commentators are saying at the bottom of the screen, just in case you can't hear them over the racket.

So I can now definitively report that your equipe will score no buts if they keeping frapping the ballon against the poteau

I see David James is starting off in goal. I wonder if he has taken his cello with him to South Africa. Yes, he used to have cello lessons, but his heart was in his sporting abilities, rather than music.

    Good luck to him, anyway.

You have just given me an image of David James saving goals with a cello, using it like a cricketer or baseball player would use their bat.
