Odd rumour monger this chap, no obvious political allegience, just doesn't like those in charge:

"the latest nonsense - a huge list of things he can't eat or drink because of the drugs he's on...most importantly, cheese and Chianti". Every doctor in Britain would recognise these contraindications instantly: for they are the two great verbotens for people taking MAOI drugs.
Is it true that these food restrictions are likely indicators that someone is on MAOI?

It is true that if one takes MAOIs these need to be avoided, however, I would first ask what is actually stated. For example if the list said most cheeses and the following wines - which happened to include chianti - then that would be strong evidence against MAOI consumption. As a committed rumormonger, I have little doubt that John Ward would gloss over such subtleties.

The original list would have to look something like this to raise suspicions.

Wallace for PM!! And while we're at it - do you think we could kidnap P Charles and then get David Attenborough to rule as king?

My money is for Gromit, not Wallace, human beings have proved over the centuries, to be useless at governance, vote for dogs or delicious mint flavoured sweets.
