I have read one or two of sheer genius. One in particular, if anyone can find again I would be grateful, was a guy pretending to be a church pastor having to convince the church elders to pay over the release fee. It was side splitting with the scammers taking photos of themselves worshipping sheep and all sorts in an effort to comply with the reverse demands.

what is 419 con?
Named after the Nigerian law that supposedly outlaws the practice, I think, you receive an email, letter of fax usually inviting you to share in a large amount of (fictional) money that is supposedly tied up for legal reasons.
There are two ways in which the scammers extract money. Either the mark provides them with their bank account details and the scammers empty their account, or the advance fee version where the mark is persuaded to hand over money in order to secure release of the fictional funds.
If you go to Scamorama site or any number of others detailing these frauds you will see exampls of the type of initial correspondence sent out willy nilly in the hope of snaring the gullible.
Well, what would you do if you were poor like the Nigerians?
Don't give me "they have an oil business there making millions" because the money is only given to those in direct involvement and not distributed to everyone. Some Nigerians want some financial action and 419 scams are here to stay.
For one, I wouldn't con people.
