    A scientific hoax

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7853564.stm

"A BMJ spokesman said the inclusion and subsequent debunking of "cello scrotum" had "added to the gaiety of life". "

The trouble is, there is always someone who will believe in hoaxes even after they are debunked!

The spoof was inspired by a similar report of a phenomenon called "guitar nipple", which happened when the edge of the guitar was pressed against the breast, causing irritation.
I know a lady who plays guitar professionally who constantly twiddles the volume control on her acoustic-electric with her left boob. That irritates her.

what kind of gutar is that? So far I haven't seen any electro-acoustic guitars that have any controls around that area.

That's what I thought. Surely the controls are usually situated at the bottom of the instrument where they can be easily reached by the playing hand.

Maybe your friend has an imagnary guitar or one freakishly large breast.

It's a Yamaha AP-X4A Electro-Acoustic. Electro-acoustic guitars nearly always have the controls on the top where my friend's perfectly formed and normally sized appendage rests. (oh, ok then it's my wife).

Whenever the involuntary volume adjustment occurs when we are playing live, I have to reach over and give the knob a surreptitious twiddle.

Electrified acoustic guitars don't usually have the controls on the soundboard, so they are often on the side of the upper bout, which would put them in the right area.

Just as well it's your wife, otherwise that could easily be misinterpreted...

I know that, (I happen to play a little) but they are towards neck of the guitar and on the inward curve. I have a yamaha catalogue so I know what Im talking about, unless she plays a left-handed guitar.

No, Right handed. I think I know what you mean - some have them right next to the neck where it joins the body. But this one has the controls further along towards the centre of the topside - in the indentation.

I checked on google images before my last post and I can see what you were saying but you mentioned left so I assumed you meant that the controls were on the high bit (furthest away from the neck) unless she was left handed.

    What a strange thread =0
