A big part of the problem is that they are not bonkers (gay or straight) and get so twisted up about sex and sexuality.

To think the Vatican/Pope is more worried about a bit of carpet munching and shirtlifting (NO OFFENCE INTENDED!!) than than poverty and the rainforests just shows what a moribund and useless organisation the RC church is.

In an age when the population has exploded from 2.5 BN circa 1955, to 7BN ish 2008, I would have thought a bit of promotion of homosexulaity would not necessarily be a bad thing!!!!

Not just sexual repression, any form of repression against normal human nature will do odd things - often expressed as anger or violence.

It has always been a part of human behaviour to a greater or lesser extent.
