Just a quick question to you all. I'm pretty debilitated and spend most my time led on a sofa set up in front of my computer clicking my mouse most the day and occasionally managing to sit up to do a post.
I tend to lurk on posting boards that interest me but being on most of the day I tend to get through most of the interesting and end up on some very vapid boards.
So I was led down just scanning and finally found myself on an X-factor posting board. Now I don't want to insult anyone on here that is a fan of the X-factor, but trying to find interesting comments on this board I did start to think to myself is suicide such a bad option.
So when your bored, drunk or whatever where do you find your web browser wandering to?
You need to take a more laid back attitude to websites. Some are informative, many deeply dull and others amusing. If you let the 'amusing' ones (with their banality, lack of logic, absence of evidence and disturbing tendency towards verbal abuse) upset you, you will miss some of the rich vien of unintentional humour produced by human nature. I recommend trying a ghost hunting club website. I particularly like the biographies of the main actors, usually accompanied by photos taken in infrared. The equipment section, together with instructions for use, is also generally a hoot!
Have you tried something like stumbleupon? In theory it builds a profile of you and takes you to sites that you may find of interest.
Friday night on Digital Spy General Discussion can be fun. Any day of the week if you enjoy a good barney, er I mean discussion. A lot of religious trolls at the moment. But we get death penalty/abortion/sex education/immigration/psychics/vegitarian threads. Gets a bit lively at times.
Just stay out of the X-Factor forum. Or worse, Big Brother. And definitely avoid any of the cat threads in the pet forum![]()
I would second that, StumbleUpon as led me to all sorts of interesting sites. It's amazing how many clever things are happening out there on the web that you just don't realise.
I must admit I paradoxically do seem to run out of internet as well these days even though there are billions of sites now. Some nights I don't have a clue what to read, and I'll sit and watch telly
Internet used to be a TV replacement for me, it's the other way around sometimes now.
Can I take back what I said about Digital Spy General Discussion?
It's gone into Religious Thread meltdown today. There are about a score of them.
Even the Atheists are praying for them to end
Have you looked at I Can Haz Cheez Burger?. Everyone loves lolcats.
Try this one - I found it funny

I like this site, its updated every sunday so its only good for a browse one a week, but theres also a forum. basically people admit their deepest darkest secrets and get things of their chest anonymously. I think it's plain morbid curiosity that keeps drawing me back to the site... enjoy:http://postsecret.blogspot.com/
oh I forgot about this one... you logical people may enjoy it.. http://www.iriddler.com/riddles/puzzles/farmer.htm
