Thread: Forum Queries

    Re: Forum Queries

I suddenly seem unable to create paragraphs, insert smilies, use bold, italics ... or do any formatting including editing. I can do this with my email so I don't think it can be my computer. For example, when typing this out, I clicked on return/enter to make I can do this with my email etc a new paragraph, but it hasn't appeared ... similarly with this sentence. Also, when I try to use inverted commas I get "this". Help!

The quotes seem to have worked that time ... but when I went in to edit the post to say that, nothing happens. I get an edit box within the page but when I click save nothing happens.

Working for me. Not your keyboard if all's cool in e-mail but might still be your computer.

I know it's a cliche but have you tried switching it off and switching it back on again?

    ETA save works Too

I used to get all that, on my work computer only, on this forum only, but then one day it just went away.

Still no smileys, bold, italics, paragraphs ... crying smiley. Will hope it cures itself like yours Bob. Thanks both.

OK another possible way round it. If you connect via the address http://www.ukskeptics.com/forum/ then use http://www.skeptics.org.uk/forum instead and vice versa.

Or try clearing your web cache.

Ah, OK, you've fixed it. I was about to suggest checking Javascript is enabled for the site (particularly if you have just installed something like NoScript). Obviously not the problem this time, but thought I'd post it anyway for future reference.

There is a useful FREE program which will remove all sorts of stuff that seems to get dumped on your computer. I use it every couple of days - it's amazing the amount of unwanted stuff it seems to get rid of.
