As a poet, I hope I will be allowed to get away with this:
Love is the only form of magic that works!
(I saved myself from a lot of mental stress when I was in a vulnerable situation whereby it seemed black magic practitioners were using me as a human sacrifice of some sort, not necessarily involving physical death... but also possibly involving real physical death, so I was really pretty freaked out... until I reasoned to myself that I didn't need to know any secret special incantations etc to protect myself, because love is the highest form of magic that trumps all others... and I relaxed and became impervious to all other notions... so, many years later, and fully convinced that magic is bollocks, and the universe is nicely impartially the stage on which we strut, rather than a vast puppeteer, and that science is the guide and the way we can find truth, I agree with Matt that love is some kind of magical poetry, and that, like poetry, love is a useful and real force in the world.)
