I came across this report from Channel 4, regarding the well-known and popular psychiatrist, Dr Raj Persaud. There are suggestions that the Church of Scientology might have been involved.
And Dr David Nias suggests plagiarism is "so rife". "For years we have known that this has been happening, but nothing has been done about it."
Does anyone know how accurate this accusation is, or are we just getting a totally one-sided view.
Sorry if this is a naive question?

( Sorry, Bindeweede. I read the thread title and couldn't resist.)
Hah, plagiarism is for wimps! Ghost hunters are coming up with new ideas all the time! Now all they need to do is fit them to the evidence ...
Didn't Dr Nias suggest that Persaud's plagiarim has been known about for years? That's how I heard it on his [Nias'] Radio 4 interview last week.
The allegation over this particular book was first made two years ago.
It was also suggested on BBC TV that this isn't the first time he's been accused of it.
I know at university we are all terrified of plagiarising, but not knowingly - on the basis that so much has been written, somewhere along the line we may write something we think to be original, only to find a carbon copy elsewhere.
You mean a bit like Coldplay's single eh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ofFw9DKu_I
Yes, Mr 'Taped-Fingers' Martin, that was purely coincidental too. Oh yeah.

Well coldplays management state they could not have plagiarise that song from creaky boards, because it was demo'ed 7 months before creakyboards played their new york gig. Chris martin was also not in attendance at the gig either (allegedly)

However that does not mean that coldplay did not plagiarise the song, it sounds like a joe satriani one to me far more than the creakyboards one.
