LinkA US campaigner has vowed to release a video which he says proves the existence of aliens.
Jeff Peckman, who claims the film features a living extraterrestrial, will show the footage to the media on Friday.
Why do I think it is going to be a bit of an anti-climax?

Just turned up this snippet of information...

It sounds peculiar, so much for the video being "released" today.Peckman refuses to let anyone save a select list of local reporters see the video. Not only that, but he won't be releasing it online, or allowing anyone to rebroadcast it. The people who get to see it (including the Rocky Mountain News folks) are only allowed to write about it — they can't even snap photos. So how will Denver voters make a good decision on the ballot measure if they have no direct access to the evidence? If Peckman is serious, he should release his video on YouTube so we can all judge for ourselves.
I want to believe, but how can I when Peckman won't let me?
So don't expect to be able to judge for yourself today at any rate. For the time being all you'll be able to do is read whether local news reporters were convinced and of course that may tell you more about their willingness to believe than how convincing the evidence might be.
The Rocky Mountain News reports.
Ah well that explains why the video is being put on public release just yet. However it also provides an obvious motive for fraud. It might seem that that he's more interested marketting for hype and anticipation and in negotiating movie rights than letting the public see this proof.Peckman said the general public will have to wait to see it because it's being included in a documentary by Stan Romanek.
"No one will be allowed to film the segment with the extraterrestrial because there is an agreement in place limiting that kind of exposure during negotiations for the documentary," he said.
But people won't have to wait too long to see it for themselves.
"There is an open, public meeting in about a month in Colorado Springs," Peckman said. "We'll hope to do one in Denver at some point, and then in a few months, there will be the documentary that anybody can have, and it'll have the footage."

Personally I would love proof of alien visits to Earth to turn up (I mean real proof that is). Wouldn't that be amazing? The existence of intelligent life in the Universe and even the possibility that they have visited Earth is not impossible. This theory does not break any rules of science (although the ability to travel the vast distances does beg certain questions).
This is something that I think the UFOlogists miss. They think that skeptics just don't accept anything - the "how do you know that Australia exists unless you have been there" argument. If real evidence turned up (for aliens that is, not Australia) then I wouldn't just sulk away on the grounds I was wrong all these years. I would not reject the evidence and believe the opposite anyway. But here's the crunch - no matter how much you want to believe in something, this does not make it real. The ability to separate the desire from the evidence is rationality.
Some things you can reject on the grounds of the impossible (Madonna cleaning up the radioactive waste of Chenobly with a magic Kabbalah fluid, for example). Other things you can accept the possibility but until convincing evidence turns up then all you can say is "there is no evidence" - and extraordinary theories require extraordinary evidence: I am afraid a (non-existent) video of an alien looking in through the kitchen window, just doesn't cut the ice for me.
Well here's a still.

Raccoon?
No, not a racoon. Just utterly pathetic. I think this is all a hoax, maybe to sell videos. Remember the roswell autopsy tapes? Its not unreasonable to assume this will be the same thing (or similar).
That is even worse than I expected.
I like this statement in that link:
By that logic Kathmandu must be a major galactic space hub!"There have been, I think, 150 or 250 UFO reports just in the last few years within Denver as well," Peckman said on MSNBC. "But Denver, after all, is closer to outer space than most other major cities — we're the Mile High City — so it's a natural first stop for them."![]()
Looks more like a Punisher shirt
I notice they had a photo expert say the video wasn't tampered with. It seems that since it is so easy to digitally alter photos and videos nowadays, people automatically seem to think that's the only way to produce dodgy films. This one could just be someone outside the window in a costume! Or any one of a hundred other equally simple things. Just because new technology exists, it doesn't mean old fashioned stuff doesn't work any more!
A grainy, black and white still of something that looks suspiciously like a dog. Or any animal with a broad head, muzzle, eyes and ears.
I'm glad I didn't get excited.
Video has apparently leaked,

I don't know how much or how little this has been tampered with, but if it's based upon the original I'm still saying raccoon.

Bloke behind the window waving a plastic alien head around.
Definitely.
This would be so hilarious if it were not for the fact that there are some people out there taking it seriously.
So here I was taking a video of a window and night (!) when all of a sudden an alien happened to play peek-a-boo (!). I was so surprised, I didn't think to run outside and introduce myself ("Hi I'm a UFOlogist, take me to your leader).
Howls of laughter![]()

I'd say plastic alien head is more likely than racoon. You can buy a mask that looks a bit like that in Poundland, but it's more likely to be a balloon. Could be a big model of some other sort, shops in the UK have been full of this type of alien toy for years now.
Racoon is more likely than actual alien.
Chances of it being an alien doing a bit of perving through a window just as someone had their vid recorder handy?Billions to one against.
