    Nice, if old, article

Their top of the list, Penta, ceased trading in the UK in 2005 (in no small part to Ben Goldacre). More info at Wiki

I once read a lovely blurb on a bottle of water, describing how the water had been "carefully" filtered through the Alpine rock. This introduced me to a novel concept - careful rocks! I've heard of anthropomorphism, but this is new.

That's a high concentration of rubbish in a small article.

I hope their scientific literacy has improved since then

I was intrigued by the bit about water clusters. Does anyone know what this means?

Short answer - it's pseudoscientific nonsense.

Longer answer, water does form temporary clusters but since they last in the picosecond range (IIRC). Snake oil peddlers suggest that water stabilises in these clusters thus making it better to drink or giving it the ability to store information.

Expensive water is a great example of a tax on the stupid.

I buy one every now and then just for the bottle, refill at tap and sterilise it every week. Handy for the car as I always need lots of hydration in the mornings

Me too - I was referring more to the waters in the OP.

Restaurants with water lists, now that is stupid.

    Have a look at http://www.life-enthusiast.com/index/Brands/QuantumTech

    Quote:

"Quantum Tech water is infused with light from a Geometric Laser, to imprint the vibration of 35 essential isotopes of elements from the periodic table. The people at Quantum Tech believe that human health & well being depends upon 35 isotopes, that must be replenished on a regular basis. Attempting to convert incorrect isotopes to usable frequencies, will result in unnecessary biological systems stress & expenditure of energy. This process is very inefficient and can cause a lack of energy & vitality, diminished immune capacity, lowered resistance to disease, and a potentially shortened life span. Since our soils are depleted of these essential elements, so are humans. Quantum Tech believes that currently available mineral supplements are not in a minerals state, but in a toxic metallic state."

If this nonsense was not enough, it then says:

    "500 ml - Makes 8 gallons"

??? dilute out the water ???

Wow! That sounds dead impressive, doesn't it? 35 isotopes? And they are all in short supply because of our depleted soil? I am scared. Only...I notice crops seem to be growing quite well in this depleted soil. And it may be very foolish but I sort of thought that one of the ways you could tell soils was depleted was that food didn't grow well in it. But I live and learn :)

That sentence comes close to the most silly I've seen for a long time.

8 Gallons from 500ml (*growls at screen for mixing units*) are those US Trad. or Imperial gallons, I wouldn't want to get the dosage wrong, I might end up over my %RDA of transpanted water isotope memorys

why stop at 8 gallons surely the potency increases the more you dilute it, everyone knows that.
