    An evening with James Randi

For those who managed to make it, "An Evening with James Randi and Friends" at the Conway Hall, London was a huge success. Standing room only and an evening that I will not forget. I have posted some photographs on http://web.mac.com/oryctolagus/Site/Web_photos.html for those interested.

My son and I came down from York especially for the event (for those attending my son was the one who collected the "think of the caption contest prize"). I have been looking for sceptical groups or events in my neck of the woods, if anyone knows of anything please let me know.

    Bunny,

Welcome to the forum. If you have a few moments, why not give us a little write-up - I for one would be very interested. I'm sure many other people would be too.

Yes it was a great event, the best in the UK to date, barring the Euro Skeptics conference of a few years ago, but that was a very different type of event.

No time to write it up myself but I will post links on this here if and when I find them.

I hope you have pictures too, Teek.
I'm hoping to compile an album on the evening over at the MySpace page.

I saw rat (from Jref) there. I dont know him yet though. I think I also saw teek behind a counter, but no beret or mustache was visable so I was unsure if it was her or not

I did not have much of a chance to take any pictures, I snapped a couple thats about it really.

    Here I am.

It appears, reviewing my photos, that I have very shaky hands. I doubt any of them are worthy of publication anywhere. I put a shrunken version of one of them on the photo thread on the JREF as soon as I got back to my hotel room. I can put my others up in my webspace when I get home, but to be honest, they're all that bad or worse. And I forgot to take any in the pub. Well, I didn't forget, but I'm never comfortable publishing pictures of people without their express permission, so I chose not to take any.

Yeah I had aquick chat with BlindWatchmaker (yet another Jon) and saw Teek standing next to him as I and the crowd shuffled in. I thought to myself I wonder if that's Teek and looked at her name badge Then realised I appeared to be staring at her frontage and got all embarrassed. The crowd and I shuffled on.

Too many people to say hi to and too much time queuing for the toilet instead. That and rushing back to to the babysitter.

If you have a ponytail I saw you too matt (I think)

Yeah I was also scanning teeks "chestals" for the name badge, and got that whole "what if my manly gaze is miscontrued" thing IIRC there was a badge but it didnt have a name, just "organzier" or something?

Ill upload a couple of pictures later for teeks article.

Yes, that's my excuse too. I mean, she looked largely like she has done every other time we've met, but I was just checking the name badge to make doubly sure. Can't be too careful.

If you want to use my excuse firstly I want royalties and secondly it'd help If you'd noticed that it did have her name handwritten underneath. Now she won't believe it was the name badge you were looking at.
