Note: for USA customers, there is also www.cafepress.com/ukskeptics, you can buy from there too but it takes much longer to ship and the colours of the t-shirts aren't as nice in my opinion.
I bought the Skeptick: The Next Generation tee shirt and it looks totally ace! I'll post a photo tomorrow.
Ordered a couple
Will now patiently await for them to arrive :)
I got some UK-Skeptics branded ones - they take about a week to arrive.
We've already sold quite a few apparently :D I'm not sure how many (Tracy's running it) but it's a great start.
Thanks to all who buy.
All proceeds wil be used for UKS purposes.
.
Hopefully John will put this pic up on the shop page, but here it is anyway just cause the t-shirt looks so damn fab:

We'll be adding more bits and pieces in time.

I vote for the mugs. We really really need mugs.
Sleaze alert sleaze alert sleaze alert sleaze alert
Perhaps we could charge more for the one that Tracy has actually worn!!!!
This seems to work in Japan in relation to nether garments of young ladies from educational establishments
I am starting to wish I hadn't said this now
Serously though, nice pic, ( in a non sleazy, non threatening, old enough to be your Dad kind of way)
She's older than she looks you know Aardvark - she remembers Mary, Mungo and Midge
Still, the picture did the trick for me. Off I go to order ...
Oh yes, and I second BB about the mugs
We're working on the mugs folks, I'm currently investigating the options - if we have them pre-printed it's much cheaper for you but we'd need to order 100 and we have to make sure there's enough demand. If we get them on a per-person basis, it is likely to cost you anwhere from £12 - £20 per mug, which personally I think is silly.
So, when we've found a solution that fits everyone's needs, we'll let you know - it won't be too long now.
Thanks to everyone who has bought a t-shirt - my Star Trek parody one has really garnered a lot of attention, it's great for starting conversations.
Ardvark - quite simply the funniest post i have read in a long time..."sleaze alert...."
I would buy mugs - proper 'up north' man-sized mugs and not those riduculous (only room for the sugar) small ones....
btw a brilliant car sticker saying "Dont follow me, follow Darwin" got a car fire-bombed in the USA recently.....lets get um....go on...lets get um......![]()
I can believe that. Although I'm sure no-one here is afraid of the big bad creationists, it's now also a Muslim issue and personally I wouldn't want my car vandalised - which in Birmingham is a risk. I have a Darwin fish but I haven't put it on my classic BMW (namedrop) because frankly the car means more to me than making the political comment publicly. I'd wear it on a t-shirt though, because I don't leave my torso parked on the street while I pop into the shops for a Cornetto.Originally Posted by Dr B

Seriously though, merchandise is going to have to be a bit more expensive than standard items as both the company supplying them and UKS need to make a profit on them.
I don't think people mind paying a few extra quid knowing that the money is going to a good cause, but if we ask £20 for a mug we're not going to sell many - if any.
I think mugs will be quite popular - I certainly would love a branded one - but we have to get the right balance between buying in bulk for cheapness and being able to sell the quantity we buy.
There's not a great deal of mark up on these things so buying 100 mugs means we'd probably have to sell 80+ before breaking even.

What a lot of the web comics seem to so (being run on a shoestring and all) is take cash pre-orders. When they've got enough for a full run they order them, if they don't get enough money it's a full refund.
Doable?
