    What is the word?

    Here,
    i heard some watches and clocks started working and they had no batterries in them!do you think people would make this up?

    No, I don't think people make this stuff up deliberately. I think it is more a case of exaggeration and Chinese whispers. I doubt whether anyone could actually track down the specific people, and their clocks, involved.

    my dad used to rub dead batteries in his hands and they would work again, for a short while anyway.

    When I was younger we used to put batteries on the radiator to try to get a bit more life out of them.

    Is that really how to pronounce "gullible"? I've always pronounced the i as such. You learn something every day,
