I've just heard Cilla Black on Radio 2 ( Steve Wright show ) peddling her new venture...
http://destinycalls.co.uk/
Apparently she believes in psychic abilities 'because of all those times you're thinking of someone, and then they phone you' and other, assorted run-of-the-mill woo. The 'interview' was little more than an advert for this £1.50/min scam![]()
I'm almost tempted to give them a call and see how far I get in the vetting process with cold reading before announcing to the world that I'm not psychic.I’m a very good Psychic and would genuinely like to become a Reader myself – what should I do?

I wonder if this is going to be the beginning of a new trend: celebrity-endorsed psychic phone-lines?
Even believers in psychics admit that these phone lines are a complete rip off. They exploit not only the customers but quite often, also the desperately hard up readers posing as the psychics.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out; whether it's successful or if it backfires on Cilla Black. I suppose her career was pretty much over anyway but I'll be surprised if this goes any way to resurrecting it.
.
Considering the the recent fun with TV phonelines, you'd think everyone would be trying to stay well away from anything vaguely similar.
I was thinking about this move this morning. The OFT are currently doing a lot of promotional work trying to educate people about scams. They're doing things like sending text messages out to people and advertising on local radio to encourage people to report scams.
I wonder if this is a part of that? ???
Destiny calls Ltd is a newly registered company and yet they have bagged Cilla Black to advertise it!
This may be wrong, but worth considering as a possibility.
.
That's a possibility, but I'd be surprised if they did it in such a contentious area - there are some people who would argue psychic ability is real you know...
With lottery scams and prize draws, I've heard before they are doing hoax stuff to see how many people they can catch and educate.
I already have an intense dislike of Cilla Black, and if this site is real, I feel I may explode.
There's an enormous hidden irony there. In interviews Dionne Warwick has long carped about Black copying her every move in the '60s: "I told her that You're My World would be my next single in the States. I honestly believe that if I'd sneezed on my next record, Cilla would have sneezed on hers too. There was no imagination in her recording."
Given Warwick's long time involvement in promoting the now bankrupt Psychic Friends Network, it seems Liverpool's most talent-free harridan is still ghosting her all these years on.
(Excuse my vehemence. In the '70s Black's husband Bobby tried to get a fellow musician sacked from the BBC because of a very slightly off colour joke about the height of her mini skirt, viz. "Blimey, Miss Black, an inch higher and we'd all be warming our hands on your fiery bush." I've never been the kind to forgive and forget.)
Cilla Black? The very name makes me want to vomit a rainbow. And Alfie agrees with me!
