You may have discussed this before. Is it any good? All I can find about it is papers on the recovery of uranium; fabric and paper uses;and dye/stain. But this says it is proven efficacious by research. Is it?

Pubmed says No results found, Wiki mentions it as a traditional Japanese colour (#934337) and the first page of a Google search only brings up one "health" place selling it as a supplement.

I can't give you a definite answer but it talks about tannin and compares it to red wine... which would make sense to me. A tannic (bitter) red wine does have mild health benefits. I believe it's also the same stuff in tea that's good for you.

Beyond that I can't help you.

Well I took at peek at the wiki page for Tannins and it looks to be a lot more complex that that. Some are good, some not so much and too many block iron absorption, also long term\excessive usage (apart from tea ) is not recommended.

    Interesting stuff :)
