Do they have, like, a manifeshto? A canna see one capn.

I wouldn't trust anyone who would trust me to know what's best for me and my family. Can't see my vote swinging their way.

Seventeen Million People Can't Be Wrong

So the only possible reason for not voting is this??

Sick Of Being Owned By The State?

Not emotive at all really. No hidden assumptions there, oh dear me nol

    Who We Are

They are not telling. Pity - I would like to know really. I suspect Montana survivalists but I could be wrong. No way of telling

That manifesto in full ( from the second page):

" Libertarianism will cut this cancer from the body politic. Because we advocate as small a state as is possible—within the boundaries of protecting personal rights, liberties and our national defence—the opportunity for politicians to 'milk the system' for the benefit of themselves, their families and their favoured cronies is removed. The less power the state has to wield, the less corrupt ..."

If we could only work out which " personal rights" and liberties" they mean, we'd know where they stood.

Just a wild, cynical, guess on my part, but I think they mean the right to do what you're told by your natural masters. Over whom that nasty state ( that's you, by the way) will have no control.

Best thing Pete Doherty ever did in my opinion.

I don't understand this, from the "Privacy" part.

    Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We do not take specific steps to protect the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us.

We do not provide information about our personal data practices in relation to children on our home page, or at those parts of our website where we collect personal data

Sorry, daft that I am, as children can't vote..........I must be missing something.

Oh god. Not Libertarians. They're the polar opposite of communists and just as idealistic. And like communism, it's an interesting idea if it didn't actually have to feature human beings.

I agree entirely. Libertarian thought does seem to lean towards a utopian outlook, and the Libertarian community is quite 'culty' in parts, especially among the more fervent Objectivists/market anarchists.

I assume that a Libertarian Party would have to be, by definition, more minarchist in stance, perhaps thinking along the lines of Ron Paul in the US.

What, you mean a paranoid conspiracy theorist with racist leanings and an obsession with shiny metals as a substitute for modern, effective, economic models?

Yep!! And I think that one of his kids is named Rand. Bit of a clue to the bloke's mindset maybe?

    Ooh.....shiny. I like shiny. Where's the shiny?

So what is the difference between Libertarianism of this ilk and anarchy?
I've got nowt against anarchy*, but this feels like bad anarchy, not good anarchy. Does that make sense? Not really.

*except that it doesn't work, because, as Teek said, it involves people.

He took campaign money from Stormfront and refuses to return it, which gives you more of a clue

I didn't know that. That's very worrying, considering the amount of popular support he seems to be getting at the moment.
