I had an extremely terrible one with one 'psychic' who warned me to get divorced from my husband cos he was not the right one. Stupidly this thought was in the back of my mind and was marring my thoughts and marrige, but I found out that is what he always says and bangs on about.
I am still married to my husband, usual up and downs. So be warned folks, do not bother with the tarot readers.
we dont usually ???
Wow. I have only spoken to one person who seriously thought tarot was useful but mostly it seemed to be quite woolly and unspecific. This seems to be quite a different order and breathtakingly irresponsible. Do tarot readers often make such statements?
Anecdote alert!!!![]()
I heard of a man who went to see a medium after his wife had died and the medium told him she could see evil spirits etc. around him. He took it all seriously and ended up having a mental breakdown.
I think the real lesson is that when anyone goes to a 'psychic' (of any flavour) there's no way of knowing whether this person is trying to do it ethically (if you can lie ethically) to 'help' people or whether they believe they really are psychic because of some mental illness they have themselves.
"One of the most alarming things about the mediumistic racket is how completely some people put their lives into the hands of ill-educated, emotionally unbalanced individuals who claim a hotline to heaven...That people who ask such questions of a medium are risking their mental, moral, and monetary health is a shocking but quite accurate description of the matter."

I went to a Tarot reader when I was 17. She said that I'd never get married or be happy in love, never have any children and could see many big changes in my life. Guess what? It never came true and at the time I believed it... idiot that I was.
Well I was the other side of the table so they were upside down to meSince then I've read that Tarot readers use a lot of tricks like looking for wedding rings and the way you dress and also questions you want answered to psyche you out and let you know what you want to hear

Yep, basic cold and hot reading. John is selling a great book about that type of malarkey if you want to educate yourself on it. Im buying one myself [/chinesealternateaccount]
The thing that always makes me laugh about tarot, is that it is a card game, and the cards have just been truned to some mystical woo-woo con trick.
It would be like in 100 years times people were going for Magic The Gathering readings, or trusting in divination by Pokemon.
Hmm, Peekcaho crossing Squrtle, very auspicious…
:D
"Bad" Tarot readers.
Are there any good ones?
No this one I had a bad experience with was a male in his 50's. He was a failed actor, and he did not like to see other people happy.
I found out that this man will always say this/that partner is not 'right' for them, stupidly I belived him, but I still went ahead and married the man. Still with him and no major upset has happened.![]()
Why were you scared? You do realise it is all pretend, don't you?
The comment about "some things that nobody could have known" is heard very often in the context of tarot readings, sittings with mediums etc.
Without knowing the specifics of your reading it would, of course, be impossible for me to comment in detail, but I could urge you to read a little about 'cold reading' and 'the Barnum effect'. I suspect that learning more about these practices will help to reconsider your reading, from a somewhat different perspective.
