    Talking Forum Warriors.

Newbies to message boards or forums can get quite dismayed at the sort of battles and flame wars that go on.

Those of us who have used them for a while get used to the certain personality types who do battle: the bullies, the Machiavellian types, the trolls, wind up merchants, Bliss Ninnies, etc.

A true Forum Warrior, however, must know the dynamics of all adversaries he or she is likely to face.

It is in the interests of improving our forum members' appreciation of poster types that I post the following link.

NOTE: it is not meant to be used to match up posters you know so you can take the piss out of them.

Having said that, use the drop-down menu to read the different forum antagonists and you might recognise one or two types.

    John,

Is that you talking, or your Evil Twin With The Large Stirring Spoon?

I never considered myself to be any type of poster in particular, what category would you class me as John?

John adopts the Innocence Abused posture.

Oh god I can see me in at least 3 of those.

This one brought a few names whizzing through me head:

Ferrous Cranus is utterly impervious to reason, persuasion and new ideas, and when engaged in battle he will not yield an inch in his position regardless of its hopelessness. Though his thrusts are decisively repulsed, his arguments crushed in every detail and his defenses demolished beyond repair he will remount the same attack again and again with only the slightest variation in tactics. Sometimes out of pure frustration Philosopher will try to explain to him the failed logistics of his situation, or Therapist will attempt to penetrate the psychological origins of his obduracy, but, ever unfathomable, Ferrous Cranus cannot be moved.
