I've just received this anonymous message from the main site feedback form:

I'm sorry to say this, but you people are extremely narrow-minded. And what about the paragraph where you added the note to the programme about psychics on TV; "Was it worth it?"
I can't believe that you don't see the meaning of your own words...
Why write all this crap about people that have been blessed enough to even get to know about their natural sences... We all can do this... Why use plenty of hours on writing against something, when you could use your time in something that interests your immagination?
Please, "surrender"... ^^
You'll be overrun in a couple of years anyways...
Hugs from me to everyone in here... I hope you atleast give it a chance, and tries to get some more information on the subject, instead of critisising everything...
Bless you...
Wake up!!!
I think this gifted person was alluding to my commentary on Britain's Psychic Challenge.
It's the usual codswallop that they come out with, but I like this: "We all can do this... Why use plenty of hours on writing against something, when you could use your time in something that interests your immagination?"
We can all do what?
If it's in relation to BPC, I agree! We can all do what the psychics did - they didn't actually do anything.
.
All good fun!!![]()

It certainly is nice to be appreciated.
I've just never understood why skeptics are always labelled as narrow minded, when they seem to be the only breed asking questions.
They think that believeing in nonsense is open-minded rather than what it really is: being credulous. See: The Open MindOriginally Posted by chillzero

Ah, such bravery - to post an anonymous message.
Interesting that s/he admits that it all stems from the "immagination". I can't believe s/he doesn't see the meaning of his/her own words.
Trouble is, s/he might be right about being "overrun in as couple of years". It is my fear of that very thing which motivated me to be here in the first place.
I get the narrow-minded one all the time. Most woo's even argue that a university education is bad as i have knowledge and thats a bad thing.... :D
something about how merely stating the facts is going for a high-ground???? What bollocks.
They have great difficulty i find in keeping 'on topic' and digress into personal jibes and the ever present 'I'm offended' card.
I usually get, (i) science cant explain everything (yeah..and pseudoscience cant explain anything); (ii) Science is limited (yeah....but a very simple science shows you are wrong.... 8); (iii) You are closed-minded (nuff said by John me thinks...); (iv) I am entitled to my opinion (yeah...and you are entitled to be wrong
), (v) you have to experience it in order to know about it (see other thread for this one
), (vi) just because your a scientist does not make me wrong (quite right actually, you being wrong makes you wrong
)
John, I'm afraid to say that the bigger and more known this board becomes, the more messages like this you will receive.
I don't know a single high-profile skeptic who does not regularly receive hate mail and often threats (woo threats though, like, curses and voodoo stuff).
However, any one attacks a dearly-held belief system is going to attract some defensive behaviour and occasionally some offensive behaviour. It's part of the job. It's just a shame that the woos never seem to put a coherent counter-argument together, it's always name calling or allusions to mystery senses.
Ho hum.
I doubt they'll come up with anything I haven't heard before.
This sort of thing doesn't bother me in the slightest - in fact, it shows the message is getting across.![]()
