Careers in Astology for Uk Graduates ?

Apparently the following email has just come through on the mailing list for the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services.
I fear its not a spoof...

The study of Astrology is a serious discipline which has benefited and
is of interest to many intelligent people, and is not about reading up
about our sun signs in the newspaper. Useful web sites in the UK are
    www.astrologicalsociety.co.uk and www.astrologicalassociation.com

I feel as professional Careers Advisers it is important to respect the
interests of our clients and that our messages on the link should
    refelect this.

    Regards,

Are you involved with AGCAS/on their mailing list?

Perhaps you should send an email to them explaining why (with evidence!!) Astrology is not taken seriously despite the assertions in the email.

I'm not on the AGCAS mail list- it was forwarded on to me by a friend in our Careers service, there've apparently already been some appropriate replies from other careers officers though...!

"Ah well, I suppose the Enlightenment was good while it lasted."

" If we encourage our students to pursue careers in astrological
prediction, isn't there a danger we'll eventually do ourselves out of
    our jobs?"

Re: Careers in Astology for Uk Graduates ?

I recently recieved a leaflet through my door from a local college, upon perusing the contents of courses offered I was honestly astounded. It seemed to offer indian head massage, reiki, aromatherapy, dowsing and crystal healing etc. It was disproportionately representative compared to the other less popular courses offered like basic maths, physics, english etc.

I feel if this current trend continues, we will soon be back to living in caves and asking the local rain gods for a good crop this year. I dont want to die at 35 from old age, despite the ability of crystals to "rejuvinate" me.

I think this is just a money spinner for "edumacational" institutions. I dont think they should offer popular fad or trend based courses when there is a lack of rationality everywhere as it is.

Surely they meant "...your head's in the wrong juxtaposition with Uranus..."?
