Image Of Jesus On A Piece Of Sheet Metal

I'm not too sure what Jesus really looked like so I can't really comment.

Is he giving the finger to us or picking his nose though?

I took my sweaty socks off today and threw them on the floor, and behold, there was an image of a washing machine. Is this woo woo or just phew phew.

Am I the only one thinking "I wonder if I could fake one of those..."?

Well, ten grand is ten grand

Actually, that raises an interesting question. As an atheist, I make my own moral and ethical code - so would it be unethical of me to profit from a Jesus face? Purely hypothetical of course, I don't actually intend to do it because I personally don't feel it's right, but what do other skeptics think? Or would it be ethical, but hypocritical? I don't judge others for profiting from their Jesus stuff, but I do judge the people who buy it.

And would there be a difference between profiting from faking one, and profiting from one I genuinely found by accident?

This is a bit like asking whether an atheist can blaspheme!

I must admit that in my times of despair, I often think that if you can beat 'em, join 'em. Although I'm an atheist/agnostic (depending on the particular definition) it's my conscience that prevents me from bilking others.

Oh to be an internet-based remote-reiki healer.......

I'm glad you said that, I have dark days like that too :)

But instead, we fight the good fight! It's baby battles really, we are never going to educate the whole world, so the achievement is in the one person you get through to, or things like the Selfridge's situation where their actions are exploitative and we have the tools and knowledge to address that. But then you see how creatonism is sweeping the country, and you think...ahhh, too much!

Having a good support network like this makes all the difference though. :)

This is why we need a group of us working together in the UK.

It is very satisfying when you get feedback from someone you've helped. It makes up for the times when you wonder why you bother.

I keep saying though (perhaps trying to convince myself ) that 2006 will be a good year for skepticism in the UK. We're off to a good start.

Jesus inhabits a Marmite jar lid in Wales now ...

"People might think I'm nuts, but I like to think it's Jesus looking out for us. "We've had a tough couple of months; my mum's been really ill and it's comforting to think that if he is there, he's watching over us." Auntie

This sort of thing always prompts the same question from me - how do they know what Jesus (always supposing he even existed) looked like?
