Question: If women existed would they have souls :-X if souls existed would women have them.

The series (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tg2jk/In_Their_Own_Words_British_Novelists_Among_the_Rui ns_(19191939)/) is worth a watch

If souls existed, who would want one? Given the kind of baggage they come with - eternal damnation for private thoughts and actions for pretty well any anti-authoritian actions and the up side have never been adequately explained, whether its harp playing or virgins doesn't really cut it.

All I know of Lawrence Durrell was from "My Family and Other Animals", The first instalment of his brother Gerald's autobiographical romp. I had thought that sibling rivalry was responsible for the unflatering protrait the Gerald painted of his brother.

Maybe not so much now.
