“The Assessment and Qualifications Alliance paper asked pupils how the Bible's theory of creation seeks to explain the origins of life.”
Oh, ooh, ooh, I know I know, >:D
GOD DID IT.
Can I have my GCSE creationism biology certificate now. O0

TBH Creationism sounds barking mad unless a person is already firmly religious so getting pupils to actually write it out, the whole 7 day thing, probably works in favour of most kids seeing how daft it is. It would be interesting to see what they would expect from an answer; ID or the rib of adam thingy?
I think some people actually believe creationism just means 'god did it' and as such can include evolution, that would be worth challenging.

Well maybe ... but do kids actually get marks for knowing this stuff (and if so, was it taught to them in science classes)? Conversely, do kids who just know the real science and not the religious mumbo-jumbo get lower marks in the exam?

Yup. I have had that argument with someone. "I support the teaching of Creationism because I think that God is responsible for evolution." [I explain] "No, that can't be right. Nobody is that stupid. I support Creationism blah, blah."

She said pupils were not taught creationism as a valid scientific theory but that it would be strange not to mention it when discussing Darwinism.Hmm...really?
EDIT: I never studied Darwinism, but I definitely enjoyed my lessons about Evolution.
