View Full Version : Michael Jackson Dead

The BBC is reporting that singer Michael Jackson has died following a heart attack.

Sad - a really talented guy, but completely screwed up. Was it his early fame and lifestyle that twisted his mind and led to the obsession for plastic surgery, and perhaps to his seemingly unhealthy relationships?

Here come the sick jokes.

And keep 'em coming >:D

I watched BBC News America this evening before Jackson's death had been confirmed. They interviewed Uri Geller (a friend of MJ apparently). Geller said that at that time, he wasn't sure if MJ had died or not.

Not such a great psychic after all!

Sick jokes are called 'sick' for a reason! Psychologists say jokes are funny because the punchline is a surprise, in some way or other. Sick jokes are easily predictable, which is probably why I don't find them funny.

I was no fan of MJ but I recognise a great talent cut down way before its time. They just had an interview with Geller on Radio 4 and, for once, I wanted to hear it. It was clear that MJ had a lot of personal problems and the stress of his massive upcoming tour must have been huge. Despite this, the conspiracy theorists are no doubt already all over his untimely demise.

I watched the way he was sitting with a young boy during some interview thingy - it sent chills down my spine! Or seeing him dangle his infant from a hotel room which demonstrated many of the qualities associated with abuse.

I'm with Polo, I can't say I feel much in the way of grief. I didn't wish him dead but I'm not unhappy he is.

Yup. Same with Farah Fawcett, I'm not happy but I'm not sad either.

I also saw the amazingly gifted psychic Uri Geller on the Beeb last night. He not only said that he didn't know if MJ was alive or dead but that the news that Jackson had been rushed to hospital came as a complete shock to him. Wow, to have such powers. Although, give it a week and he'll be claiming that he knew this was going to happen.

He was on GMTV this morning. He is convinced that since Einstein proved that matter is energy (E=mc2) that MJ's energy is "up there somewhere" (eyes roll to ceiling). Probably bending spoons.

OK, here goes:

What the difference between Michael Jackson and Alex Ferguson?

Ferguson will be playing Giggs in August.

Reports of Michael Jackson having a heart attack are incorrect. He has been found in the children's ward having a stroke!

Jackos body will be melted down to make kids toys. Then they can play with him for a change

Michael Jackson died falling over a Childs pram, so they’re blaming it on the buggy!

Not such a great psychic after all!

Gellar was first person they basically got on Sky News last night.

I am sure I have read a debunking of their friendship before, it was basically a business relationship. However it is impossible to find anything on Google cos the number of 'close friend' links.

Note how anything he says is basically just supposition but twisted to make it sound as if it is personal.

The rest of you are going to hell. Bad people.

It was in the popbitch email last week that his high pitched and squaky voice is just a put on, and in private he speaks like any 50 year old man.

I'd hate to speak ill of the dead, but having quite closely followed his trial and listened to what various psychologists had to say about him at the time, I've certainly formed the opinion that much of his persona was maintained to support characteristics which would see anyone else treated in quite a different way.

MJ brought down Google (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8120324.stm)! He was undoubtedly a phenomenon. It would be an interesting study in how celebrity has become one of the most important social phenomena in recent decades.

Cant beleive the beeb interupted QT with a Newsflash. Thought at first Gordon Brown had called an election, resigned, or shot himself, or her madge, PoG or PoW had died, or we were at war with Iran, or there had been a terrorist attack. Nothing so trivial - Gary Glitter (was it?) had KTBed

Farrah Fawcett’s death was a blow she was my first crush as a hormone enriched boy. It is a shame that Michael Jackson’s death has over shadowed hers and She may not have been as big a star as Michael Jackson was but I thought she deserved a mention and not derision as she harmed only herself.

Farrah Fawcett dies aged 62 after losing battle with cancer
Farrah Fawcett, the actress famed for her role in Charlie's Angels, has died following a long battle with cancer.

Her longtime partner, Ryan O'Neal, said she died in her hospital bed in Los Angeles after being admitted earlier this week.
"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away.
"Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world," O'Neal said in a statement

{rescription drugs, anxiety medication, a
long-standing fairly secret alcohol problem,
and the almost constant threat of bankruptcy.
Then add on top the no win situation of the
concert series - pull out and lose what was
left of his reputation or head to the O2
with frail health and stagefright, and
lose what was left of his reputation.

So farewell Michael Jackson, if you are dead
and not whisked away to Bahrain while an
impersonator throws us off the scent.
He touched so many people through his life
- and no doubt many of the younger ones will
be going to the press with their stories.
And not only did he leave us so many brilliant
songs, let’s remember all the laughs we shared too.
Rest in peace Michael: hopefully you will be
sharing some Jesus Juice with Jesus tonight.

There was plenty of fuss among the people who cared about their music. The media are only going overboard now because he was one of their favourite targets. If he had remained nothing more than a brilliant musician (though not my sort of music), they would be making no more fuss than they did for all the others. The next time we see them go over the top like this will probably be when the queen dies.

It's interesting how there is blanket coverage - yet no one is telling us anything we didn't know. The man's life has been laid bare in public for 30 years.

It's just empty coverage, clutching at straws for something interesting to say.

"We wanted to show how easily users can be manipulated on the internet with hoax videos," she said.
"Therefore, we created this video of Michael Jackson being alive, even though everybody knows by now that he is dead - and the response was breathtaking."

Yeah, well they would say that wouldn't they. Everybody knows that debunking denials just prove that the video is genuine. Or something.
