I know nothing of parrots etc. but if I were considering spending thousands of dollars on this unique bird, I'd have DNA tests done to match it to its parents.
It may just be a normal bird that looks like a galah-cockatiel cross. If the 2 species have never been known to cross before, that could be the case.

they haven't.
Well you know the size of a cockatoo, a Galah (or Rose Breasted cockatoo) is more than twice the size of a tiel. I'm not sure it's scientifically possible, I was hoping someone scientific on here could help me find that out :)

I think they key thing to look for is whether it is possible but impractical for the species to cross or if the two species are too distantly related to make a cross possible.
Obviously if it's impossible for them to cross then it can't have occurred but if it's just impractical, due to their relative sizes, then it could be true.
I think you need a scientist who specialises in these bird to give a good answer.
Are there any breeders' societies?

Not that i'm aware of no.
Rosemary low, pretty well known Ornithologist would probably know, but hey I don't have her contact details ::) I have no idea how you would contact someone like her? I don't know any ornithologists personally.

Rosemary Low seems to keep her contact details private.
Is there not an aviculturist in the UK who could comment?
