Crop circle researchers (!) don't tend to talk about possible UFO connections any more. Indeed, they are careful to avoid pushing any theory too hard (especially the most obvious one!). There is, instead, a lot of talk about geometry and symbolism. Here is an example (http://www.cropcirclesandmore.com/content/welcome.html).

All three of the circles on that page were made by the Circlemakers (http://www.circlemakers.org/).

They have seen it as an art form from the very beginning of their involvement. They are like Banksy but are the Wiltshire version.
