I have just heard a very well thought out put down of homeopathy being used by Vets.

This came from Dr Simon Baker, a Vet who was speaking against the RCVS decision to look into or revue the use of homeopathy.

He also had a good attack at use in all species including us.

He is the first person I have heard make a claim for homeopathy having side effects in that the condition may worsten leading to the animal needing more intense therapy down line.

He was very credible

He was not saying that homoeopathy actually has side effects, but that animals being treated with homoeopathy may get worse because they are being denied effective treatment.

It's the same old story: many people believe in homeopathy and customers should have a choice!

I posted something else on here about why I don't think patient choice is a good idea - it boils down to completely unqualified people making medical decisions based on a belief.

Homeopathy just doesn't work. How can otherwise intelligent people actually believe in it?
