Notice how I replaced the "i" with a "*", somehow it makes it less offensive (I get my education from the tabloids).

..... anyway just caught the last 5 mins of an episode on FX channel (sky 179).
Don't know what series or episode they are up to, but it is well worth a watch. Randi is on a few episodes doing his stuff.

(I suspect that the show might edited in parts for legal or 'taste and decency' reasons)

No need to use a '*' on here ;)

No reason not to though - I think that if we don't moderate boards (within reason) then people will moderate themselves. I've tried it before and it works.

I've just seen an episode of theirs on alternative medicine, linked to from the JREF forum, and I thought it was very well done. Yes they are probably a bit acerbic for many but the message got across all the same.

That's the only one I've seen though and I know that other JREFers have been somewhat critical of their approach.

Hi,

This is my first post on this forum and I'm very pleased that it exists keep up the good work.

Now that I've got all that out of the way. I've seen all 4 series of "Bulls(clap)hit" and it has to be the best programme on the subject of skeptisim out there. It's a real shame it's hidden away on a cable channel over here. It should be on the BBC, it would make the licence fee worth paying.

Their approach to each subject is perfect, they can be insulting when it is necerssary, they can be funny and light-hearted when necerssary and they can be deadly serious when necerssary. In all a highly recommended programme.

Cheers

Jamie

Hi Jamie, welcome to the forum.

I haven't seen any of the series yet, although I did get to meet Penn in January (it's so quiet in here you can hear a name drop :D).

I am waiting for someone I know to buy the Region 1 DVDs so I can borrow them, my rental list doesn't have them and I don't do piracy, so I have to wait. I could just buy them but I'm tight ;D

Oh man, that's so Cool. I have to get my ass to Vegas, I don't suppose for a second they'll come to the English TAM that Randi's planning.

I've got a huge collection of their stuff most of it bought but I don't really have a problem with downloading bullshit because:-

1. It's educational

2. I like to read their message board everyday and understand what folks are talking about, and I can get an episode the day after it airs in the US.

3. P + T are an addiction to me, try asking a smoker not to smoke a free pack of cigarettes.

Cheers

The UK TAM isn't definite, and may not happen at all, so if I were you I'd get yourself to Vegas in January 'just in case' ;)

Thanks for those links Jon.

I'll work my way through them given time.

I've only seen one of the programmes but it was better than I expected. Some people criticise them for being overly belligerent but there's no single way of getting messages like these across.

I love their shows, i love the swearing, i love the piss taking.
It makes the show entertaining while still getting the message across.

Imagine the same show without Penn's Naration, and you have an unbelievably boring tv show

P&t's Bullshit can be great, just avoid their more political episodes (gun control springs to mind) unless you want Pens libertarian/ anarcho capitalist views shoved down your throat as the ONE TRUE VISION OF SKEPTICISM. But apart from that, they're fantastic.

I'm almost through the first season, it's hit and miss but there are some great moments.
