I saw this link on the JREF: http://buttcandle.com/
I haven't looked into whether it's a spoof or actually meant to be serious (I wouldn't be surprised if it was :o), but read the FAQs. ;D
Now, this needs investigating.
Jocky, any chance of a test protocol? ???
We have our own resident homeopath, I think we need a UKS endorsed Buttcandleologist too. :D

John, I got all excited about your brave offer to be the guinea pig for an experimental protocol involving ramming candles up your ass and then lighting them >:D >:D...
... at least I did for the thirty seconds or so until I realised it was a spoof :( , as confirmed by Michael Shermer in Scientific American (http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?chanID=sa006&colID=13&articleID=0001547E-EECE-1FD3-A7EA83414B7F012C).
However doing the same thing in your ear is apparently a real woo treatment. Somehow, I don't feel all that excited about testing it
;D

Yes, the FAQs give it away as a spoof. However, with a little more 'open mindedness' I'm sure it could be accepted as real. ;D
I wonder how many people actually try to order them? :-X

It's not just your mind that needs to be unusually open to try this out ...

How would you go about asking for a refund?
"For all the good they did me I might as well have stuck them in my ears" ;D
