The main thing I don't understand about this is why would they be showing films in school in the first place? If you want to teach children about the environment and climate, there are plenty of resources around without having to show movies, especially ones filled with such blatant exaggeration and propaganda. That's what the cinema is for.

But the film has been awarded 2 Oscars, and he's been given a Nobel Prize. What do facts matter? Politicians , like so-called psychics, thrive on publicity. The film is probably being shown as there is a chronic shortage of decent science teachers who might be able to present a more balanced, and accurate picture. Sit the kids in front of a screen - it shuts them up. The PE teacher, or whoever, who has ended up taking the Science lesson, can nip off for a fag.

The UN body comprises about 3000 atmospheric scientists, oceanographers, ice specialists, economists and other experts, and is the world's top scientific authority on global warming.
The peace laureates will receive a gold medal, a diploma and 10 million Swedish kronor ($1.7million) to be shared between them. Mr Gore said he would donate his share of the money to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a group he founded last year to raise public awareness of global warming.
Predictions that he would win the prize sparked speculation in US political circles that he may use it to kick-start a late entry into the US presidential campaign as a Democratic nominee.

Well firstly I applaud Stewart Dimmock (?) The father who with his own money I believe tried to get the film banned from schools. Al Gore...I mean even his name sounds scary!!! Dimmock has won a victory of sorts and I'm not sure about the policies of his party but he gets the thumbs up from me.
Does anyone remember the movie with Jet Lee called 'The One'. There is a scene in the movie where Al Gore is on TV being hailed as the president. So let's just see if the American public...well...say no more!!!
