A wine cellar, eh.... very posh. Mine is a cardboard box beside the front door. A friend of mine had a small cellar installed in his house. His wife said there were about 1000 bottles in there, but he said rubbish, only just over 500 or so. Oh how the other half live.....

I had to smile, inwardly, when I went to visit my old friend. It was about a 45 minute drive; I took a nice bottle of wine (!); we went to a pub - I paid for the drinks; we had a small lunch which I paid for. I'm living on a small ill-health pension and he and his wife are working. So who is the mug? Still, he was kind enough to give me a bottle of wine from his collection.

If I were to be unkind, I would say it was a bottle of slightly-over-the-hill white Burgundy. But I wouldn't be so unkind as to say it.
