Presumably they mean a suspected brothel? I would have thought it's pretty obvious it's a massage parlour, what appears to be in question is whether or not it's actually a knocking shop.

Drinkers are being urged to contact police following the murder of two women at a suspected massage parlour.

Or is this the start of a new trend for the media? "Today a person, possibly a man, was potentially arrested outside a suspected chip shop for allegedly breaching what might turn out to be the peace".

Could be a parlour for suspected massages ???

Definition:

Massage: The manipulation of muscle and connective tissue to enhance the function of those tissues and promote relaxation and well-being

I think that could cover a number of things :ponder:

Perhaps it was closed at the time and they suspected it was a massage parlour rather than an ice cream parlour. I can see the sign on the door now: madam whippy - back in 30 minutes. ;D

I think you're right Teek. It is a massage parlour that they suspect of being a knocking shop.

Right on target, tk! They mean a suspected brothel but are far too genteel to say so.

"Would you like a flake with that?"

Now that really would depend on what type of parlour it was. Yes Madam, I'd like a flake inserted. ??? ;D
