I've been nominated for the JREF forum language award before, but this is the first time I've made it to the final.
Who wants to make all my birthdays and Christmasses at once by helping me to win? Pleeez?
Vote for me here: http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=58034
And read my thread in its entirety (and context) here:

I promise all voters that if I win I will abolish psychics and give free milk to schoolchildren.

How much will be going to the UKS fund if you win?
Not that I'm blackmailing you or anything! :liar:

Exactly 50% of the nothing that I get for winning.
But 100% of the kudos, baby!

None of my postings were in there. :'(
I couldn't write like that in a million years :-\
I think language ability is a gift - and I don't have it. >:(
It took me 3 attempts to get english language 'O' level ???

Hang on...
There's a late entry from one John Jackson ???
Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle...Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle...Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle...NEWcastlllllllle.
A work of genius, even if I say so myself. 8)
I'm particularly impressed with the rhyming throughout the piece. Faultless.

Yay! Thanks everyone!
I usually just get nominated for silly stuff like 'flaps', so I never make the final. I'm glad I actually got there for something I thought was worth it, even if it is a silly post.
The irony of me parodying addiction is that I've never even been drunk!

Another vote coming your way ;)
It took me three times to check if I was pressing the right button, mind. :-\
I used to be like that when checking if the front door was closed when I left the house. :-[
Never has the thing with obsessively washing the hands though ???
I think it was just a phase, though :)

Congrats to Tkingdoll on being awarded the highly coveted TLA.
Just don't mention asparagus tips.
Also of highly worthy note was Nucular's Omniology piece:
Wow...
- "Occupation?"
- "Omniologist."
- "What?"
- "Omniologist. A practitioner of omniology."
- "What?"
- "Omniology. The study of, you know, everything."
- "Everything? What, you mean like, everything?"
- "Yup. Everything. Specialising in omniology."
- "So you study everything, and you specialise in the study of everything?"
- "Yes."
- "So... You wanna hear my life story?"
- "No, why?"
- "'Cos you study everything, I thought..."
- "No, no, not EVERYTHING. Well, not you."
- "Oh. Well what other things don't you study?"
- "Well you know, we study everything in the wider sense. Like the universe, and everything in it."
- "I'm in it..."
- "No, like where we came from, that kind of thing."
- "I came from -"
- "No, I mean humanity's origins, and the world."
- "Right. So you're like a scientist?"
- "Yes!"
- "Okay, I'll just put 'scientist'."
- "No, put 'omniologist'. I'm not a normal scientist. Actually, we omniologists disagree with a lot of what science says."
- "What, are you animal rights people?"
- "No... well, yes, but, um, in the wider sense. We think scientists have a monopoly on thought and academia, and we want to free people from that."
- "From thought and academia?"
- "No, from scientists! We're academic freedom fighters."
- "You're not a suicide bomber are you?"
- "No, no, they're just religious nuts! We're... um..."
- "Right, right."
- "Right."
- "Shall I just put 'unemployed'?"
- "Yes."

Thank you, thank you. Yes, folks, it's true. You are now talking to a decorated member of the super elite, a card carrying Language Award winner.
Here is a link to my long acceptance speech, proving that I won through popularity and not writing merit after all!
