It's not clear what point our little troll was trying to make about Randi.

Where Randi points out the key was already bent, that's actually the fundamental thing about the cheap trick that the fraud Geller made his name doing for the benefit of the credulous.
The only point where Randi might seem to the unobservant to be being overenthusiastic is where he says 'Look!' in a high-pitched voice, but it's clear he was taking the piss out of Geller, who was doing the same thing in his sham performance.

If talking about cheats and scam-artists, it does seem worth studying old frauds like Geller, especially if they're still in business to some extent.
I imagine that many of the audience may not even have been around in Geller's heyday, and a look at his methods can be instructive.

Uri has attempted to sue Randi on several occasions. This is why Uri is universally scoffed at by Randi. He also serves as a useful example on how a conman can influence the credulous, so he is a useful teaching tool. Is it an obsession on Randis part? no, not really.
