The mysterious appearance of Crop Circles have been generally labelled as the stuff of hoaxes and indeed some have been proven to be made by humans - but there are others that defy explanation. But whatever they are we cannot deny the geometrical beauty contained in them. Here is a compilation video of Crop Circles what do people think?

Talking to yourself again?

From that site:

Some crop circles are hoaxed. Some are not. We research those that are not!

You know there is a logical fallacy there?

Oh another fallible human :'(

Did you move on to read about the Crop Circle research or were you too upset?

I looked. I read a bit. So what?

His gut feeling is that they are caused by the propulsion systems of alien aircraft - but he has no evidence. Fascinating.

Are you a total creduloid then or obsessed with trying to wind up people who are more intelligent that you?

Why is it when man(or woman) creates great feats of engineering or art, there are those individuals who can not accept that some other person or group of persons have more talent and skill than them, capable of such feats, and thus have to attribute pyramids, micro-wave ovens, the Nascan lines and crop circles to 'superior' extra-terrestrials?

Yep, didn't you know that the Illuminanti reverse engineered the microwave from the flying saucer that crashed at Roswell O0

I did not! Why wasn't I told ? It is outrageous. >:-) Who do I complain to?

There'll be an unmarked, black car pulling up outside your house in the next 10 minutes. I'm sure the gentlemen within the car will be more than happy to take note of such complaints ;)

The problem is when someone orchestrates a hoax it is with the intention to deceive - I would not applaud anyone who is basically commiting fraud.

Nope - can't stand pan pipes.

Just yawning at the yet another tired and horse-whipped subject that you've managed to be gullible over O0

In the 'hay'day (sorry, couldn't resist!) of crop circles, I went to one of the very few lectures ever given by Doug Bower. I'm afraid it didn't show up crop circle 'investigators' in a good light (I was never one!). They proved remarkably easy to hoax. Most crop circle investigators were, for some reason, new to the field of anomaly research which may have been why their enthusiasm outpaced their caution.

I was more interested in discussing their intricate designs rather than the crop circles obscure origins. But it seems for you as well as other members their "hey-day" as you put it, has well reached its use by date. Is there a way to close Threads?

In regard to the "defy explanation" part - how do they defy explanation? in an age where we can etch images onto silicon chips nanometres wide and send probes and motorised robots to other planets, how is it beyond explanation that a few people can stomp down corn (or any other crop) in a field to a geometric plan?

Where is the fraud?

Criminal damage yes, but no fraud. I'm not aware of crop circle artists claiming that their intricate works of art are the results of alien communication, alien space ships, lay-lines etc. As beauty is in the eye of the beholder so are alien messages in the eye of the credulous.

Sadly, some of them actually do. I saw a documentary on Sky a while ago, possibly part of the "Conspiracies" series, where one of the believers claimed that they were made by aliens even though he made them himself. I think he was rather special, even for a crop circler.
