Why isn't the moon square then.

I surmise the 4 corners of the earth is north, south, east and west. The pillars are the north and south pole... :cheesy: furthermore, I have nothing to say! ;D

This is utter nonsense. I have checked the reference to Revelations 7.1, and it says epi tas tesseras gonias tes ges (sorry, no Greek typeface). Now gonia with an omega can mean corner (as in polygon), but can also mean angle, specifically the four right angles of a full circle. In context, it should be translated as the 4 directions, not corners.

This stupid new theory is based on a mis-translation. The Earth is flat and circular. End of story. :cheesy:

Phew, that's a relief. For a moment I thought that everything I'd ever been taught was right. ;)

There's no such thing as a figure of speech in the bible y'know, it's all supposed to be taken literally.

In fairness to the ancients, it was well established that the world was spherical a long time before John of Patmos wrote his revelation and I would suggest that it was highly likely that John would have had no issue at all concerning the spherical shape of the earth. Unlike the dingbats of the Square Eath Society.

If the Earth IS square ...then you can be certain to find a helpful and friendly Asian shop on every corner ...HEY ...this theory's got a lot going for it

I emailed this guy in December and have been watching his mailbag ever since.
He finally updated it and....my email is not there. >:-)

I'm a bit miffed. I was waiting to see how he would refute the irrefutable.

I'm with Fiona - got to be a parody;D

Under "What can I do in my community to make the heathenous Round-Earthers see the light?"We have the advice to hold 'square dances' and "Yell at the school board and demand "equal time" for the "equally valid" scientific theory that the Earth is square, while reminding them that the notion of a round Earth is "just a theory." "

Poe's law anybody?

Poe's law anybody?

NOOOOOO! Not again!!!

Well until you can provide proof it is a parody, I will continue to not feel stupid.

Of course the Earth is a sphere, but the really important thing to remember is that we are living on the inside.
