Mary had a little Lamb

Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
T'wasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.

And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools to day?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
On March 25th, 2005 a new search was executed to attempt to discover the author of this piece. If anyone knows how to contact of the author of this piece please contact us (jpleclair@agentz.com). This is the story we have been able to find so far about this piece. Until we can contact the author we will consider it uncorroborated.

The story behind it is this: Carol Josey teaches a children's class at church and she was using a lamb puppet in class when the words to Mary had a Little Lamb came to her head. The Lord told her to write it and she said, Lord everyone knows that poem. He said write it anyway. When she got home, she began to write and she realized the words were not the same as our familiar nursery rhyme. He began to reveal to her that Mary (Jesus' Mother) had a Little Lamb (Jesus).

Jesus was a sheep? That's not one I've heard before.

I just thought it was sad to see a childrens' nursery-rhyme turned into religious propaganda. Still, God told her to write it, so she had to do what she had to do.

Lack of sheep = school shootings. Let's put a sheep in every classroom by 2010! :cheesy:

It's children's - it's already plural.

Is that it?

Yes. I know. Is that a problem? I know you know and Julia knows - it was a castastastrophic error.. I'm going out for a long walk. I may be some time.

;)

Well, it was only a typo anyway, so who is bothered. Am I? I don't think so. Why is everyone on this forum making such an issue of it. I mean, really! I ain't bovvered.
